Question: Can you input my data into the GIS software?

We can input most GIS Data into our DigitalGIS™ software, as long at it is geo-coded or is associated with a piece of data that is already geo-coded.

Note: Geo-coded data are pieces of data that have associated latitude and longitude points. So, if one of your clients in your database has an address, then the data can be used in our system. This is possible because the client's address has a definite longitude and latitude point associated with it in our system. Therefore all the data pertaining to a particular client or location of interest can be accessed and viewed in our system through a simple search or a click of your mouse.

Question: How can I use the GIS system in my business?

There are many daily business functions that our software can assist you with. The individual functions you will use will differ depending on the line of business that you are in. Regardless of your line of work, getting specific Land information without taking a car ride, making a phone call, or even leaving your desk is a function everyone would like to take advantage of. You can search, view and manipulate multiple layers of data by the criteria of your choice.

Question: I have a small business and GIS software is expensive, right?

One of the benefits of our software is the fact that we have made it affordable for the small businesses and scalable to fit a larger entity. We have done all of the legwork that takes so much time and money. Due to the great multitude of organizations that can use DigitalGIS™, our GIS clients can now reap the rewards of the software at an affordable price.

Question: What do I need to have on my computer in order to view the GIS software?

Most clients have all of the hardware they need to view our GIS software. To make sure our software will run smoothly on your computer, check out The Minimum Hardware Requirements for specifications. A onetime download of two Java Applets (viewers) will be necessary as to view the software (see next question).

Question: How long does it take to download the necessary Java applets for a new computer?

The time it takes to load and install the java software needed to view the DigitalGIS™ software is approximately 7 minutes per computer. Download: (2) Java Applets

Question: Is it easy to learn and/or remember?

Relatively speaking, Yes. Though time is needed to gain product knowledge, you do not need to have a great deal of software experience to use the software effectively. Easy navigation and simplicity was kept in mind as the software was developed.

Question: Do you have a helpdesk for questions or concerns?

Question: Do I need new hardware or servers for this software?

A great benefit of DigitalGIS™ is that the software is hosted on our AchaeanGIS servers. This means that users do not have to incur great hardware costs to take advantage of power Digital GIS. Check out The Minimum Hardware Requirements.

Question: Can this software supplement or complement my current GIS software in anyway?

The DigitalGIS™ software can do either or it can work in-house as an addition to your current system (Giving you different information). We can also implement your GIS data from the old system into our new system.

Question: What type of information can I get from the software?

Tax Maps, Aerial Photos, Census Data, schools, school districts, wetlands, roads, soils, Parcel Specification, rivers, water bodies, search capabilities, municipalities, census data, etc…

Question: Is the information accurate? Where do you get it from and how hard is it to get?

The Data information is as up to date and accurate as the state, counties or townships keep it. We have a number of different entities that we acquire data from such as the state town county etc… and let's just say, it is not easy to get.

Question: I can get all of this information from the clerk's office, why would I want it from you?

The major benefit of our software is not only do you get everything you need from the clerk's office and the state's offices, you get it in a usable format. You don't have to purchase more software or pay the labor costs involved in massaging the data for you. We also continually maintain and update the information. We save you and your company Time and Money.

Question: Can I create and print personalized reports with my own headings, logos, notes or labels?

Yes. You are able to create, label and print out the image report and the Parcel Specification with your own company Logo, scale and direction symbol.

Question: I have and use GIS software. What is different or special about yours?

We have clients that have and are using GIS software that was created for a particular project or assignment. Once this particular project or assignment is complete the software is no longer useful. On the other hand, our system is designed to be continually useful and rise above obsolescence. New data layers and functions can be added as an organization's needs change over time. Your organization's database or important data can be linked to or made part of your personalized DigitalGIS™ account.

GIS is web-based. Up-dates are constantly being made to the software and data without a technician stepping into your office to constantly load new software on your computers and networks.

There are organizations that have access to GIS software, but do not use it. They do not use it, because often it was designed to view basic data and not to make daily business tasks easier, nor to save the user time and money. DigitalGIS™ makes daily tasks easier, saves the user time and helps the organization make money.

Question: Do you have GIS information specific to my region, state, county, and town/city?

We provide information by county. You can choose to access data for the county or counties of your choice from all counties available in our system.

Question: Can I afford your GIS software?
